Glen Oaks shuts down campus

CENTREVILLE – Glen Oaks Community College will be closing down their Shimmel Road campus until further notice.

Valorie Juergens, Glen Oaks Executive Director of Communications and Marketing made the announcement Monday afternoon. Instructors will continue to teach their classes through an online format. However the decision to close campus was based on the current status of the coronavirus and the risk to employees and their families.

Employees will be working from home to continue to provide support services to students and faculty. Agricultural Equipment Technology classes held at Burnips in Three Rivers, have also been canceled until further notice.

Glen Oaks janitorial staff will work to complete a thorough sanitation of all areas of the campus as expeditiously as possible in preparation for a return to campus as the situation allows.

All events and community meetings on campus are also canceled while the situation continues. This includes all athletic events, theater practices along with campus clubs and organizations.
