Election Board plans for primary election during pandemic

LAGRANGE – LaGrange County’s Election Board Friday morning discussed the steps being taken to protect poll workers and voters for the May primary.

LaGrange County Clerk Bonnie Brown she’s already begun acquiring supplies for the big day. They include hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes and gloves for poll workers.

Brown said she would look into getting masks for poll workers if needed.

She also encouraged elderly voters to vote by mail or vote early at the courthouse to avoid Election Day crowds.

Voter registration ends April 6th and absentee voting begins April 7 and ends May 4th at noon. Hours are Monday through Friday 8 a-m to noon and 1 to 4 p-m. Saturday voting will be April 25th and May 2nd from 8 a-m to 3 p-m at the voter registration office in the courthouse.

So far there are no changes to voting places on Election Day.
