HOWE – The Lima Township Trustee is responding to concerns raised Monday during a joint meeting of the Lagrange County Council and Commissioners.

During a discussion of the Howe Fire Department’s request for funding of a new pumper truck, Milford Township Trustee Bruce Bowman pointed out that $150-thousand dollars appeared to be missing from the Lima fire fund.

Lima Township Trustee Terry Iannarelli says there was concern of monies being missing from the 2019 fire fund published in the yer-end financial report for the township.

He says after several months of personal investigation and multiple days and conversations with the State Board of Accounts and with their blessing, the amounts adjusted in the report are now correct and balance with the township ledger and bank statements.

Iannarelli says the underlying issues concerned poor accounting practices – not missing money.
