Ten new cases of COVID-19 in Michigan

LANSING – State officials say ten new cases of coronavirus have been discovered in Michigan.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the health departments in six counties announced Thursday night that ten adults tested presumptive positive for coronavirus. That brings the total number of cases in the state to 12.

The new cases include a woman from Ingham County; two women from Kent County; a woman from Montcalm County; two men from Oakland County; a man from St. Clair County and a man and a woman from Washtenaw County. All of these individuals have a history of travel, both domestically and internationally.

Dr. Joneigh Khaldun, the Chief Medical Executive with the Michigan Department Of Health And Human Services, says they are continuing to urge Michiganders to take precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the State.

That includes washing your hands with soap and water frequently, avoid touching your face, covering your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing, avoiding contact with people who are sic and staying home if you are sick.
