INDIANAPOLIS – The driver of a tanker truck that overturned and exploded on the east side of Indianapolis yesterday is hospitalized in critical condition.

Chances are Jeffrey Denman of Brownsburg wouldn’t be alive at all were it not for fellow truck driver Mitch Navarre and Holly McNally, who was returning home after giving birth for the fourth time.

WIBC reports Navarre rushed to the trucker’s aid and with help from McNally walked Denman down the on ramp away from the flames.

Bystanders said Navarre should be rewarded for his bravery.

The tanker was carrying 4,000 pounds of jet fuel which spilled and then ignited.

Police believe the tanker was taking the curve of the on-ramp from I-465 to I-70 too fast which caused it to overturn.
