By: Mike Stiles - Friday, January 3, 2020

THREE RIVERS – More people used the St. Joseph County Transportation Authority's free ride opportunity on New Year's Eve than ever before.

According to information released on their Facebook page, the CTA says 65 rides were given Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. 54 were from the Three Rivers area and 11 from the Sturgis area.

That number surpasses the previous high of 37 riders that used the CTA's services on New Year's Eve 2009.

CTA officials want to say thank you to the drivers and dispatchers who participated in the program and to the community members to took advantage of the free ride opportunity.

They also want to say thank you to all of the sponsors, because without their generosity, the Transportation Authority would not be able to keep this important program running.
