ELKHART – A four-vehicle pile-up on State Road 19 south of Elkhart sent two drivers to the hospital Monday evening.

51-year-old Jeannette Pollard of Wakarusa was the first to crash. Her pickup truck ran off the road and hit a barrier. Pollard suffered a broken nose and a passenger, 5-year-old Jace Pollard, suffered a cut to the eye. They were both treated at Elkhart General Hospital.

That caused a chain reaction of vehicles behind Pollard’s. 62-year-old Donald Truex of Nappanee suffered a back and neck injury and was treated at Elkhart General.

Police cited Pollard for driving too fast for the conditions.
