ELKHART – Charges against three Elkhart men were unsealed Thursday after all three were apprehended.

20-year-old Donald Owen Jr. and 19-year-old Mario Angulo Jr. are charged with murder and confinement resulting in serious bodily injury in the death of 31-year-old Kimberly Dyer of Columbia City.

Owen, Angulo and 24-year-old Matthew Murzynski are charged with robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and confinement resulting in serious bodily injury for their actions against 32-year-old Robert Porter of Sturgis.

Murzynski is also charged with confinement for his actions against Dyer.

Because of the nature of the crimes against Dyer, prosecutors are seeking a sentencing enhancement against Owen and Angulo, for allegedly torturing, burning and mutilating Dyer before killing her. A criminal gang enhancement is also sought against Murzynski. The enhancement would double any eventual sentences the trio receives.

Angulo and Murzynski had initial hearings Thursday. Owen was arrested in Waco, Texas and awaits extradition to Indiana.

The murder of Dyer and the confinement of Porter are alleged to have happened in October. Dyer was reported missing in November.
