Two crashes, five hurt near Goshen

GOSHEN – Three people were hurt when a Cadillac turned left into the path of a PT Cruiser near Goshen Monday afternoon.

It happened on State Road 15 at County Road 40.

Neither driver was injured, but a passenger in the Cadillac – 47-year-old Matthew Hubert of Wheatfield – suffered head pain.

Two passengers in the Cruiser – 24-year-old Brandon Scruggs and 28-year-old Jessica McClure of Fort Wayne – were injured. Scruggs suffered pain to his head and back. McClure had pain to her head and back along with a cut to the shin.

All three passengers were treated at Goshen Hospital.

Deputies cited the driver of the Cadillac – 40-year-old Lisa Huber of Wheatfield – with failure to yield the right of way.

Earlier Monday an eastbound semi rear-ended an SUV on US 20 at State Road 15 north of Goshen.

68-year-old Phillip Smith and 67-year-old Sherry Smith of Elkhart were in the SUV and suffered neck and back pain. They were taken to Elkhart General Hospital.

No citations were issued.
