LIGONIER – A Warsaw man died when his vehicle was struck by an Amtrack train in Ligonier Wednesday night.

41-year-old William Sanford was westbound on Perry Road when he attempted to cross the tracks and was struck. He died at the scene.

Amtrack says no one on board the train was injured.

The crash happened just before 11 p-m according to the Noble County Sheriff’s Department.
