MUNCIE – Muncie Mayor Dennis Tyler faces a federal indictment accusing him of theft of government funds.
FBI agents served a search warrant at Tyler’s home and took the mayor into custody on Monday morning.
The indictment alleged the mayor received $5,000 from an official from the Muncie Sanitary District in exchange for awarding contracts to a specific business.
Tyler becomes the sixth Muncie official indicted in an ongoing investigation of corruption.
