OXFORD, IN – It’s a story worthy of any Halloween movie.
In Northwest Indiana’s Benton County a woman was found dead with an 8-foot python wrapped around her neck.
36-year-old Laura Hurst of Battle Ground was visiting a residence in Oxford which is home to 140 snakes of various kinds...20 of which belong to Hurst. Police said she visited them twice a week.
Benton County got a 9-1-1 call just before 9 p-m Wednesday. Medics arrived and attempted lifesaving measures but were unable to revive Hurst.
An autopsy is planned for Friday. Indiana State Police are conducting the investigation.
