GOSHEN – The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office will be using the X-ray machine to scan for potentially hazardous items in children’s Halloween candy again this year.

On October 31st and November 1st, parents can bring candy to be scanned, free of charge.

On October 31st, scanning will be offered at the Elkhart County Correctional Complex Jail Lobby at 26861 CR 26 until 9:00pm.

On November 1st from 8:00am until 4:00pm, both county courthouse locations at 315 S. Second Street, Elkhart as well as 101 N. Main Street, Goshen will also offer to scan Halloween candy.
