NEW HAVEN – Leila Veney, a 6 year old girl who went missing from New Haven has been found safe in Mount Laurel, New Jersey.

Leila was taken by her non-custodial father – 34-year-old Leon Veney, who turned himself in this morning.

Veney took his daughter at the end of a supervised visit and told the girl’s mother he was taking her with him as the mother got out of her car.

He currently lives in New Jersey.
