LAGRANGE – An Avilla man is in the LaGrange County Jail facing several charges.

Lagrange County deputies arrested 29-year-old Jacob Arnold on charges of possesion of meth and paraphernalia, operating without a license, driving while suspended, Operating while intoxicated, and a warrant from Noble County.

The sheriff’s office says a Honda 4-wheeler nearly struck a deputy’s squad car head-on. The deputy then turned and gave chase.

The pursuit went through a bean field until the 4-wheeler got stuck in a swampy area and Arnold fled the field into a wooded area.

He was captured a short time later with assistance from the Ligonier Police Department’s drone.

Arnold was treated at Parkview Lagrange Hospital for minor cuts and scrapes and then taken to jail.
