By: Mike Stiles - Wednesday, October 16, 2019

CENTREVILLE – It was an evening to remember the victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Domestic And Sexual Abuse Services held their annual candlelight vigil Tuesday evening on the lawn of the St Joseph County Courthouse. A small but dedicated crowd of community members gathered to take part in the ceremony and bring awareness that these kinds of incidents happen in St. Joseph and Cass Counties.

Jan Reed of the Department of Health And Human Services was the featured speaker. She says people need the organizations that are available to them in the event they become victims of domestic violence or know someone who is a victim.

Members of the St. Joseph County Commission were also in attendance, along with St. Joseph County District Court Judge Jeff Middleton and St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough.
