By: Mike Stiles - Thursday, July 11, 2019

COLDWATER – A fire Wednesday morning destroyed the former Coldwater Recreation Lanes.

The Coldwater Fire Department says crews were sent to 559 East Chicago Road at 5 AM and found flames coming from all sides of the building. The Bronson and Quincy Fire Departments responded with their aerial trucks to help battle the blaze.

The fire was finally extinguished. No injuries were reported and there was no damage done to area buildings. Investigators are still trying to determine what caused the fire.

Traffic was re-routed as crews fought the fire.

The bowling alley shut down in early 2019. The building was being knocked down so that a new Dairy Queen Restaurant could be built on the property.
