Every Saturday, the Faith Harvest Christian Church will be having a Community Soup Kettle from noon to 2pm. The church is located at 1105 North Williams Street Angola, IN. The 6th Annual Breast Cancer Benefit will be on August 7th, starting at 6pm. The cost $10 per person and $15 per couple. There will be all you can eat and drink, live music, overnight tent camping, and a 50/50 raffle. All proceeds will go to the local breast cancer fund. M.S.D. of Steuben County Food Service will serve lunch to ANY child ages 1-18 at NO CHARGE. Lunch will be served from 11:15 until noon, Monday through Friday, on the southwest side of Carlin Park Elementary. Meals must be eaten on site. The Fremont Public Library will host "Garden Topics," an informal get-together for area gardeners of all experience levels who would like to learn about seed gathering, as well as take a tour of the Library's landscape of native plants. The program wil be held on Monday, August 2, at 6pm, at Fremont Public Library. The Corunna Fire Department is having Fire Safety Day-Benefit for Josiah Seigel on July 31st. All proceeds will go to Josiah Seigel, a 9 year old boy who has aplastic anemia which is basically bone marrow failure. This requires him to currently have blood transfusions every 4 days. He needs a bone marrow transplant which will require him to stay at Riley's Children's Hospital for at least 3 months.

The Fremont Neighborhood Crime Watch, in conjunction with the Fremont Library, and Fremont City Park & Recreation Department is sponsoring A Night in the Park at the Fremont City Park from 6 to 9pm on Friday nights in July(16,19, and 30th). The N.C.W. will be featuring music by D.J. "Nates Goodtime Entertainment." There will be many prizes, food, drinks, and games. A "Kids ID program" will also be presented by local police officer, A.J. Carpenter. The Potawatami Inn has donated a "Romantic Night and Dinner for Two" as one of the big prizes. To keep the memory of Nathan Shull alive, there will be Nate's 5K Run on August 7th at the Howe Fire Station, with registration starting at 7am and the run starting at 8am. Nathan Shull passed away two years ago from Clear Cell Sacoma at the age of 24. All the money raised will go to the American Cancer Society.
